We have a goal!

Noah, at twenty months old weighs 19.38 lbs.  Our new goal for transplant is 22 lbs. ( 10 kg).

Noah has gained 2 lbs. in 3 months so the plan is to meet again with the surgeon in about three months.  Noah's bi-weekly labs have been stable - usually requiring tweaking of some meds.

Thank you for the prayers and support for Noah!

Meet Ember!

Meet Ember, Noah's kidney donor!

Ember has generously offered her kidney so that Noah can grow to be a healthy boy.  Ember was the first of seven potential donors on Noah's transplant list.  She underwent extensive trips and testing at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston which have resulted in her being a match for the transplant.

Ember is a mother of an eight year old boy, a nurse and a long time friend of Josi and Nic.  We are eternally grateful for Ember's gift, and for the other potential donors that offered their kidneys to help Noah.

Noah continues to grow so that his body can accept Ember's kidney.  Twice monthly labs and trips to Children's Hospital are still occurring to monitor Noah's progress.

First steps!

This week, Noah made his first semi-monthly trip to Children's Hospital for testing with the kidney transplant team. Delivered along with Noah, were blood samples of seven potential (and amazing) donors that will be checked for compatibility with Noah's blood.  After compatibility tests, the first choice as a donor will continue with intensive medical examination.

We're hoping for a June time frame with no dialysis.

Thanks ever so much for the continued love and support for Noah.

Asking For Help

Nic, Josi, Grace and Noah together with their immediate families and a few very close friends met with the Children's Hospital transplant team this week.  We learned of the kidneys functions, the medications that Noah is on and the wonderful care that Nic and Josi have given Noah to get him to this point.  We also learned that Noah, at end stage kidney disease, is in need of a transplant soon.

Noah's blood type is B.

A donor with blood type B or O is needed who is ideally between the ages of 24 and 35.  A list of nine potential donors is needed for evaluation by the transplant team.

Several family members and close friends have graciously offered to be donors.  For that we are eternally thankful.  To share a part of one's body to give this beautiful boy life is an extraordinary gesture. If you would like to be placed on the list, please contact Nic and Josi Wyman or a family member.

Thank you.

Captain Noah Noah

At just over fourteen months old, Noah is about to begin his journey to conquer kidney disease.  Noah and the Wyman, Smith and Lacosse families will travel to Children's Hospital in Boston next week to meet the transplant team.  Soon after, we hope to find a donor and prepare for next steps.  Please keep Noah and his family in your prayers.
