Progress!

Noah's potassium, sodium and creatinine levels, all related to kidney functions, have been slowly improving!  Any food that he takes in must be decanted and he is being closely monitored here at Children's Hospital.

Progress!

In the meantime, Grace is doing a great job of welcoming her baby brother Noah.

Full Recovery

On Christmas night, Noah had difficulty digesting and keeping food in his stomach.  After an ultrasound, he was diagnosed as having Pyloric Stenosis, a common problem that occurs in early infancy when the passage from the stomach to the small intestine becomes blocked.

Noah underwent surgery yesterday and is doing fine in his room at Children's Hospital.

Christmas at Children's Hospital

Christmas day came and we all realized that family is the greatest gift.  It was wonderful to spend the morning with Grace and Noah at Children's Hospital with grandparents Jon and Jill Wyman and Sue Lacosse and aunts Kate and Mikayla.

Thanks to everyone for your prayers and generosity this holiday season.

Our first blog worthy event!

Noah is doing well enough to move up to the 10th floor of Children's Hospital!  He will still have constant monitoring and a very strict diet but this is great news all around!  This means that Josi or Nic will be able to spend the night with him, and sister Grace will have much more space to visit and play!

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers and we will keep you posted as updates come!

Nic, Josi, Grace and Noah

P. S.  Noah is excited!

NOAH NICHOLAS WYMAN was born at 8:34 pm on December 11th, 2014 to Josephine and Nicholas Wyman at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston.  Noah's big sister Grace, age 1 11/12ths could not wait to meet him after months of preparation for Noah's delivery.

It has been understood through weekly ultrasounds prior to Noah's childbirth that Noah's kidneys were not present or forming as they should.  A plan was made to deliver Noah at Brigham and Woman's Hospital and to provide treatment at Children's Hospital, including possible dialysis and a kidney transplant to help in Noah's well being.

Nic, Josi and Grace, along with Josi's sister Kate have moved to the Yawkey Family Inn in Brookline, to be close to Noah while he is cared for at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at nearby Children's Hospital.

Currently, Noah is diagnosed as having Kidney Disease - chronic kidney failure, stage 5 requiring a kidney transplant at approximately age one.  Noah is being monitored by the staff of the NICU to determine whether he will require dialysis.

Nic, Josi, Grace and Kate are focused on giving Noah the best chance possible as he grows to the point of a kidney transplant.  Moving to Boston and with both of them out of work, it will be difficult to make ends meet.

A fund has been set up to support the family through this time.  Thanks to all who have expressed caring and generosity while Noah and family work through his beginning years.  Your prayers and assistance are gratefully appreciated!
